Welcome to Headstrong Equestrian - the online home of Nicki Strong, a 29 year old amateur rider and freelance equestrian writer/reporter from Hampshire.
For the first time in 2011, I was able to fulfill a lifelong ambition to compete regularly, and within 6 months and a handful of outings, I was lucky enough to come away with several ribbons and a sponsorship deal! I have also established a regular blog, written and reported for Horsemart, and now have a weekly eventing column reporting for the Swindon Advertiser.
In 2012, I had a little taster of British Eventing with Willo (Caherpuca Star), and in Summer 2013 I will be looking to take my new horse Pha Mai Blue for his British Eventing debut at BE90 level.
This will be a huge learning curve, with some thrills and hopefully not too many spills along the way. As a Communications Officer by trade, it would be rude not to document our progress in the only way I know how - with words! I hope you enjoy reading about us.
