I have two ex-racehorses, who both suffer from slow and poor quality hoof growth, and Blue in particular was struggling with very dry, brittle hooves which were really tricky to keep shoes on.
We had to have the farrier religiously every five weeks, and even then we’d be lucky if they stayed on for the duration. Not ideal when you’re competing that weekend, or you’re trying to keep your horses eventing fit, and they’re doing their best Cinderella impression leaving shoes all over the place!
It was a vicious circle; because his feet never showed a lot of growth, and they were poor quality they flaked, cracked and broke away, meaning it was really difficult to nail the shoe on, and even then they’d often be weakened by the nails and create more cracks. At one point, he lost the same shoe three times in one week because of this. I swore. A lot. My bank account groaned. No doubt my farrier did the same.
There are many supplements on the market, so it’s important for us horse owners that we spend our hard earned cash on our four legged family with products that do what they say they do. Having personally tried and tested T.E.N Challenged Hooves, I can honestly say – this works. It does what it says on the tub, and has now become a staple part of Blue’s (and Monty’s) feeding regime.
If you want to transform your horse’s hooves, stop cracking and flaking, and maybe see your farrier a little less(!), I would highly recommend T.E.N Challenged Hooves.
